Those last few days of December are always a time of reflection and review and Mrs T Weddings is no exception. Looking back over all the amazing memories of the last 12 months, this photograph, taken right back in the Spring, is a powerful reminder to me of what a rollercoaster of emotion 2021 has been.

Lockdown 2021

Spending months in lockdown, unable to see loved ones, to hug, touch, kiss and be together, it was heart-breaking. For Mrs T Weddings 2021 was a year of two halves. I spent the first part of 2021 building Mrs T Weddings network of the most incredible suppliers. I have some of the best movers and shakers in their wedding specialism on my books. Musicians, caterers, florists, transport, fashion, hair, make-up, beauty, venues, props, lighting, mixologists, celebrants, even confetti ponies! I took to hosting back-to-back Lockdown Lives on Instagram, to introduce my audiences to as many suppliers as I could, and to keep the wedding conversations flowing. Meanwhile, off-camera, I was doing everything I could to help my couples plan for what felt like the unknown.

Weddings are back!

Finally, weddings got the green light! The anticipation of those first weddings going ahead, after so many months, (sometimes years) of planning, is like nothing else I’ve experienced. The emotion, the intimacy, the joy. Such wonderful moments with friends, family and loved ones, that I am so honoured to have been a part of.

Mrs T Weddings went on to have the most incredible summer filled with fun, energy and love. I’m truly delighted to have been a part of so many marriages this year. Weddings came back with a bang, and wow, were you all ready to party!

Working behind the scenes, Mrs T Weddings handled all kinds of scenarios and here’s just a few of them –

  • When the heavens completely opened, (and remained open all day) for one of my lovely autumn couples, I planned, re-planned and planned again! I sheltered guests and bridal parties, rearranged timings to enable the all-important wedding photos to be captured!
  • When one of my grooms was hospitalised abroad six days before the wedding, I handled all comms and supplier liaison to shield my gorgeous bride-to-be from any additional stresses, and allow her focus to be on his recovery.
  • When more than 50% of catering suppliers had to isolate with or from Covid at one of my summer weddings, me and my team rolled up our sleeves and served guests.
  • When the Ever Given ship banked on the Suez Canal with one of my couple’s wine glasses on board, I drove around their wedding town to gather replacements hours before the ceremony.

Looking ahead…

It has been a tough year for everyone, but I’ve been privileged to see so much love along the way and to see how far we have all come. I cannot wait for 2022, whatever it might bring, me and my team will be ready!
