Now that we’re in October, I’ve taken a moment to pause and reflect on the summer wedding season and all of the amazing weddings I’ve planned and coordinated. It’s fair to say that the summer of 2021 was truly incredible.
I have to remind myself that at the start of my 2021 summer wedding season, guest numbers were still capped, social distancing restrictions were still in place, and dancefloors were not allowed. There was an air of nervous anticipation from my couples on what to expect. After months of waiting, postponing and rescheduling, would this finally, truly be happening for them?
Those early, intimate ceremonies and micro-weddings were so special and very emotional.
Moving through June and into July, restrictions lifted! This brought lots of change and lots of new, (and sometimes last minute) decisions to guide my couples through.
It was also clear that we were still very much experiencing the effects of Covid and is likely to remain this way for some time. Self-isolation led to some suppliers encountering unexpected issues with transport and staffing levels. However, the team spirit in the wedding industry has never felt stronger. We pulled together to help each other and executed some stunning ceremonies, fantastic parties and celebrations.
I planned and coordinated summer weddings across Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northants, the Cotswolds, Buckinghamshire, Essex and Hertfordshire.
There were indoor and outdoor celebrations. Receptions took place in marquees, tipis, university colleges, vineyards, private estates and gardens, boathouses, award-winning gastro-pubs and grade-listed manor houses.
Newlyweds arrived in fleets of Mercedes, campervans, classic sports cars, on foot and even by punt!
It has been an unforgettable summer wedding season and I can’t wait to share even more photos when their galleries come through from their crazy busy photographers! I still have more gorgeous couples getting married in 2021 and their autumnal and winter styling is incredible! Here’s to you, my wonderful summer couples, it was a total honour to be your wedding planner.
