Destination weddings can completely vary and mean different things to different couples. A destination wedding might mean an exotic beach location thousands of miles away that the entire wedding party travels to. It might also mean the birth location of one of my couples, or their parents. Any of these scenarios can be planned and executed by Mrs T Weddings. Here are some examples of the destination weddings I have planned and am currently working on.

USA to UK Wedding

I am currently working with a gorgeous couple who are based in Minnesota, USA. They are having a stunning ceremony in a historic medieval building in the heart of Oxfordshire, which happens to be the hometown of the groom. They have had a stateside legal ceremony and they will be travelling to the UK for a second non-legally binding ceremony with 100 of their friends and family from the UK, but also travelling to the UK from around the world.

During our consultation, my couple made it clear that they needed someone in the UK to be their eyes on the ground. I work in the same time zone as the UK venue and suppliers, and feedback to my couple on the progress. I also have the advantage of knowing lots of Oxfordshire suppliers when they didn’t know where to start. This was particularly important for the bride who is unfamiliar with the location but naturally making lots of the style decisions. I’m also helping them bridge the gap between GBP and USD for their budgeting. They regularly ask for my guidance on value for money and quality assurance based on their US point of reference.

USA Destination Wedding with Egyptian Influence

If you are wanting to get married overseas, Mrs T can still help you! I have planned a wedding in The Hamptons, New York, for a couple that wanted a US destination wedding. Their celebrations also had the totally unique twist of acknowledging the bride’s Egyptian heritage. The guestlist for the weekend was truly international with flights arriving from all different continents.

The wedding ceremony took place on onboard a fabulous yacht – very Hamptons! I also helped them to plan a beachside clambake rehearsal dinner with Egyptian belly dancing, sword ceremonies and musicians.

Scotland to England Wedding

Destination weddings don’t just mean overseas. I am currently working with a wonderful couple who are based in Edinburgh. They will become husband and wife in the beautiful city of Oxford where the bride’s family live.

Once again, I am their eyes on the ground! I visit the venue and suppliers so that they don’t need to make the long train journeys back and forth in the lead up to their special day. We speak regularly on email, WhatsApp and video calls, so that I can update them on the latest plans. Of course we also have the fabulous cloud-based planning software Aisle Planner, which is updated in real time and means we are all kept up to date with the planning progress.
