Covid-19 has caused huge disruption to the wedding industry. While we are slowly recovering, international travel is one of the last factors to get back on track for all of us. I’m confident that overseas weddings and hen parties will make a triumphant return in 2022! To get you in the mood and thinking ahead, I teamed up with beauty stylist Carla Francesca from Cesca, to showcase sultry summer wedding styles on your doorstep. Using a range of fabulous British suppliers, we have an exotic Studio 54 meets Balearic Islands themed shoot at the Palm Residence, London.
The Palm Residence shoot captures the retro vibes of old-school disco with the ethereal magic of Ibizan summers. This shoot is purposefully for the non-traditional bride seeking an informal, unstructured wedding. Boho-brides looking for unique jumpsuits and separates, look no further!
Allow me to introduce you to House of Ollichon, British-based bridal jumpsuits and separates specialists. This design team are pioneers of alternative, all-inclusive bridalwear. Scroll-on to see just a few of the multitudes of their intricate designs.
The Giulieri
The pizazz of the 1970s silhouette is on full display with The Giulieri. This wide-flare trousers and top has a cut-away back, complete with intricate lace detail and a geometric star-scape pattern.
The Izzard
The timeless spirit of the city socialite at the buzz of cocktail hour is channelled into The Izzard. This flirty two-piece has clever tasselling that creates movement and flow, and brings a modern alternative to sleeves and skirts.
The Melendez
Keeping traditional bridalwear elements of French lace, corsetry and capped sleeves, The Melendez is a wide-legged jumpsuit that brings a modern twist to these classics.
And of course, none of these looks would be complete without the incredible headpieces and veils hand-selected for each look. The ornate and daring headwear comes from Victoria Louise Accessories who specialises in architectural headdresses, carnivalesque millinery and ornate botanical crowns. By her own admission, Victoria loves to emphasise the unconventional. “We like to rip up the rule book, break traditions, and push the boundaries to create more exciting, fresh and contemporary pieces.”
Rebecca Anne Designs provided a series of elaborate sparkling, glitter encrusted and feathered veils for another modern free-spirited take on classic bridalwear. These boutique luxury suppliers exude individuality and flair that come naturally to a boho-bride embracing a non-traditional wedding style.
